Our Story

How we sprouted

Our property was purchased back in 1956 when Napa was still a quite valley filled with orchards and dirt roads. My grandparents Virgil and Majorie Major and their four young sons made home here after both serving in the military. They chose this small acre parcel in the rolling hills just out from the base of Milliken Reservoir which was once the towns main water source. Today this area is part of the Atlas Peak Appellation and is a prized Napa Valley region known for producing world class wine. It also produces some pretty tasty Heirloom tomatoes.

Over the years my grandfather tended his vegetable garden and fruit trees, mostly used for home canning and preservation. A skill he had learned being a rancher on our families homestead/ranch in Montana. My grandmother cared for her beautifully landscaped flower gardens. Some of the original fruit trees my grandparents planted are still growing strong and producing for their grandchildren and our customers.

Our Family farm is much more than a business its a lifestyle and an ideal worth growing and preserving.

Here and now

Four generations later Napa has grown into a bustling modern day town and a world renown icon of wine and gormet food. Meanwhile our little country plot has been tended to and sculpted by our family and has evolved into a micro farm.

In 2009 we decided to take our love for growing things and cultivate it into more than a hobby. We started small with just a pop up table of extras from our harvest and a coffee can for cash. But it has grown into something much deeper and impactful than we planned.

It’s now more of a lifestyle and we feel passionate about farming responsibly and being good stewards of the land. We are blessed to be able to share our harvest with our community and find common ground among good food and good people.
